JP Expanded Universe video collection
#1
This thread can be about JP related videos and some we might not even be aware of and check out this sort of "Expanded Universe" of the JP universe. Not everything here has to be canon just JP inspired/documentaries/fanfilms/etc. I'm sure there's plenty of these semi-obscure things out there and it'd be nice to have a thread to share them. I'm aware many of you are familiar with most of these but not everyone is so why not share them with each other and we all might discover a video we liked that we didn't know about so try to explain what they are since we're not all familiar with all JP media as most of us. But this thread isn't just for random interviews with the cast that they talk about the movie more along he likes of "Expanded Universe".

Jurassic Park: The Game : The movie - It's popular on youtube to put up the cutscenes in games as a "movie" on youtube, it especially works well for this game since it was story driven with not much gameplay. There's a few versions on youtube but I chose this one since it was longer so I assume it has more content. But if there's a better version of it go ahead and link it:

Jurassic Time - The audio from the game that told the story as diary entries where Richard Attenborough reprises his role as John Hammond. There are two versions that I've found, not sure which one might be the best to check out maybe someone here can help. The first one which is only the audio with scenes that match up with what Hammond is saying, I watched this version years ago and it was great.

However there is another version that came out recently that from what I've read had a lot of work put in and they got the script from the videogame and added a second character fill in the dialog that was cut int he final game not to mention effects and music, haven't listened to this one completely, the only downside is unlike the other version this one doesn't have a "movie" version.

Jurassic Park: Prime Survival - This fanfilm is/was from a user here in JPLegacy, I remember him promoting it since I first lurked on this website and eventually finished it after a few years. The fanfilm is far from good but counting it was made by a very young fan with a very limited budget its fairly decent and worth checking out. I've read a little about other fanfilms but I'm not aware if there's any others that are finished.

Jurassic Park: The Ride River Adventure - This is the version I'm familiar with and this is a POV version of the ride. I don't know if this is the best version, if there is link it, I'm also not familiar if there are other versions of the ride if there are you should also link it.

Here are some other videogames with storylines.

Jurassic Park: The Chaos Continues
This was a Super Nintendo game and acts as a sequel to the original movie, in this video they beat the game in an hour it includes all cutscenes and levels and no commentary so it's a way to see the game without playing it.

Chaos Island - The Lost World: Jurassic Park
This videogame re-tells the story of TLW but it has new dialog from the actual actors of the movie and it's narrated by Richard/Hammond.

Jurassic Park Activity Center
This was a computer paint program and it had some narration over some terrible drawings, some scenes are from the movie but it also narrates some things that didn't happen in the movie which is interesting. The videos are worth watching because of how hilariously bad they are, this is only one video but the playlist with the rest are in his channel.

Edit: some fans contributed with these:

Here's a playthrough video of an emulated version of The Lost World arcade game from 1997. It has narration from the player but it brings me back in time to when I played it. Fond memories.

More JW related, recently discovered this short Lego animation. I really like the attention to detail and the way everything is put together.

The fact that you competed it Jack is a testimate to your dedication. For every one fan film that's actually completed there are a thousand that never get off the ground. Seeing a project through like this is half the battle!

Thanks! It was a fun project when I was young and to be honest, I learned a lot. We watch it back and we laugh, but I'm just pleased I did see it through.
